Error Reference
Common developer errors explained in plain English — what they mean and how to fix them. Paste your own error →
Browser / Network
Errors the browser raises while loading a page or talking to the network — CORS, mixed content, blocked or refused requests. Look in the DevTools console and Network tab.
HTTP
The server answered with an error status code. 4xx usually means your request was wrong; 5xx means the server broke.
JavaScript
JavaScript threw an exception while running. The first line of the stack trace points to the file and line.
SQL / Database
The database rejected your query or connection. The error number names the exact problem.
PHP
PHP stopped (or warned) while running your script. Note Fatal vs Parse vs Warning, plus the file and line.
Linux / Server
A command or process on the server failed. One phrase usually tells you everything — permission, file-not-found, port-in-use.
SSL / DNS
The secure connection or the domain lookup failed. Separate a certificate problem (SSL) from a name-resolution problem (DNS).
