3. Use the meeting planner strip to find a time that works for both: green is working hours, amber is evening, dark is night. Click any hour to jump to it.
 4. Press Copy share URL (or add
?from=X&to=Y
yourself) to link straight to a specific city pair.

About the timezone converter

Convert wall-clock time between New York (America/New_York) and London (Europe/London). DST is observed automatically for each zone using your browser's IANA tz database, so daylight-savings switches don't require any manual correction.

All 53 supported cities — plus UTC — are in the dropdowns above. Any pair can be deep-linked by adding ?from=X&to=Y to the URL.

About the Timezone Converter

Working on dates, times and scheduling? The Timezone Converter is a free browser tool that gives you the answer in seconds. Convert times across 53 cities and UTC, DST-aware. Pick any two zones, see live conversion both ways.

How it works

Type a value, then pick what you want to change it into. The answer appears straight away. It all happens on your own device, so it is fast and nothing you type is sent away. Just check that you picked the right “from” and “to” so you get the answer you wanted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is daylight saving time handled?

Yes — conversions use your browser's IANA time-zone database via Intl.DateTimeFormat, so results match the real wall-clock time including each zone's observed DST. Convert a date in July and a date in January between the same two cities and you'll see the gap change when only one of them is on summer time.

Why does the result sometimes say "next day" or "prev day"?

Because of the offset, a time in one city can fall on a different calendar date in the other. The badge next to the converted time tells you when that happens — e.g. 9 PM Monday in Los Angeles is already Tuesday in Tokyo.

What do the colours in the planner strip mean?

Green = typical working hours (9 AM–5 PM), amber = evening (6 PM–10 PM), dark = night. Line the two rows up to find an hour that's green for both cities — that's your overlap for a call.

My city isn't listed — what do I use?

Pick the closest major city in the same zone: Boston → New York, Munich → Berlin, Perth → Singapore, Brisbane → Sydney. They share the same UTC offset and DST rules.

Does it send my times anywhere?

No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser — there is no server call. The only thing that leaves your machine is the share URL, and only if you choose to copy and send it.

How do I use the Timezone Converter?

Just type or paste your value. The answer shows up right away — there is no button to press. Change anything and it updates by itself.

Do I need to install or sign up for anything?

Not at all — it runs in the browser with nothing to install and no account. After it loads once, it even works without an internet connection.

Is my information private?

Yes. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or saved anywhere.
